Karen Sealy Launches New HGTV Series “Summer Home”

Karen Sealy’s, Summer Home premiered on HGTV last Sunday. The lucky few, were invited to celebrate her launch – which turned out to be more of an afternoon soiree with the girls. Meaning her fabulous team of designers along with a few popular home decor bloggers and HGTV producers sipped mimosa’s, nibbled on healthy wraps and sliders making for a perfect Friday afternoon.

After meeting Karen, you would not expect anything less. She is successful: founder of Sealy Design Inc., a regular expert on CityLine and now the host and designer of the new HGTV series, Summer Home. And with all these accomplishments, she still manages to be very warm and down to earth.

As we watched the first episode, she filled us in on the back-story shenanigans that happened while filming the various renovations and shared with us, her view on the importance of having a comfortable cottage. Most cottages are usually decorated with all sorts of mismatched furniture with drab bunkies and rarely updated -they are however, a source of fond family memories. And so Karen believes, some time and resources should be invested in the design and décor. “People are more emotionally attached to their cottages, so they should spend a little money to be comfortable and enjoy the space,” she explains.
