Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow to DuetBy Alicia Baird
Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow have worked together playing Will Schuester and Holly Holliday on Fox’s Glee. Now the pair will sing together as well.
Morrison, 32, is in the process of creating his solo self-titled debut album which is expected to be full of A-list collaborations.
Entertainment Weekly reports he asked Paltrow, 38, to sing on his album while she was working on the show (she’ll also be in another episode airing on Apr. 19), but said the conversation was a little awkward.
“The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” he said. “I’m so not that guy.”
The two actors will be singing Judy Garland’s “Over the Rainbow”. Morrison auditioned for Glee with that song and also won the hearts of many adoring fans when he performed it on the show’s season one finale.
He told Entertainment Weekly, “People kind of know me for that song now,” he said. “I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful.”
His album is set to be released May 10. Print This Post
