Carrie Ann Inaba Defends Her Fiance

Don’t hate, congratulate!

Carrie Ann Inaba slammed all criticism of why her boyfriend proposed to her on air as opposed to doing it in-person.

The Dancing with The Stars judge was shocked and surprised while filling in for Kelly Ripa on Live! With Regis & Kelly when her beau, accountant Jesse Sloan got down on bended knee.

While reading mail from viewers, Philbin read a letter from someone who was unsure of how to propose to his girlfriend. The letter turned out to be from Inaba’s boyfriend, Sloan.

But critics couldn’t understand why it was done live, hinting towards a possible publicity stunt. Inaba, 43, addressed the issue on her Twitter.

“Jesse wanted to share our engagement with our families who were in HI, NY, CO and CA…this was a way they could all witness the moment. ” she tweeted.

“And of course, he wanted to share our love with everyone. Love is a beautiful thing to share – everyone was so happy yesterday…love love.” she continued.

The two have been dating for two years. Inaba expressed her happiness and dismay via Twitter.

“I’m still in shock! I still can’t believe he surprised me! When do you get used to the idea of being engaged!!!! It’s like a dream….”
