Are you walking around with a hair colour that attracts the attention of others?  After getting your hair done, do you look good and feel better?  There are things you need to consider when changing your hair colour:  covering your greys, matching skin tone, eye colour, age and lifestyle.

Covering Grey

When colouring your hair, choose natural colours and sometimes go one shade darker.  By doing this, you will achieve better grey hair coverage.  But if you want to enhance your grey hair, choose gold colours or add highlights.

Skin Tones

There are four shades of skin tones: olive, red, golden and neutral.  Olive skin tone looks best in cool or natural colours.  Red skin tones looks best in cool or natural colours.  Golden skin tones look best in warm colours.  Neutral skin tones look good in both cool and warm colours.

Eye Colour

When changing your hair colour, it’s always good to look at your eye colour because your hair colour could enhance your eyes.  So if you have a warm eye colour, you should wear a warm tone hair colour.  If you have a cool eye colour, you should wear a cool or natural hair colour.

Age

Age sometimes is nothing but a number, but when it comes to hair colour, the older you are, the lighter your hair colour should be.

Lifestyle

Before you change your hair colour, ask yourself these questions:  “Is this suitable for my job?”, “Would I have to change my makeup or the way I dress?” “Do I want a trendy look, or a conservative one?”

Whether you want to cover your grey hairs or create a fashion statement, colouring your hair is a great way to express your personality and feel great.  So go ahead and make an appointment with your hairstylist.

NOTE: Olive tones have an underlying of grey, green or yellowish tones (cool ).

Red tones have an underlying of red-brown, red or blue-red tones (warm)

Golden tones have an underlying of golden brown, gold, or peach. (cool)

Neutral tones are a balanced of warm or cool.
