Fabulous Hair Finds

The beauty industry is constantly evolving and utilizing technology to come out with the most innovate products to market.  I have had the pleasure to try many new products and I want to share with blandi-1_208x350you the best in hair.

Oscar Blandi – Originally from Italy he came to the US and opened a salon in the heart of New York City and is a famous hair stylist to the stars.  Now there is also a line of fabulous products which are carried at Sephora and most recently launched at Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale stores.  This line is loaded with fabulous offerings.  Shampoo & Conditioner Di Jasmine is amazing for all hair types.  It works especially well at taming unruly hair that tends to frizz.  Its key ingredients include Vitamin E, Sea Kelp, Jasmine Flower and Soy and Wheat Proteins to strengthen the hair.  There is also a matching hair serum called Olio di Jasmine which contains some of the same ingredients but has sweet almond oil in it to help eliminate frizz and add shine.  The first time I used this combination I looked like I had just left the salon, my hair had never been so easy to style and so smooth and silky.

Moroccan Oil – There has been so much buzz about the significance of Argan Oil in the past year.  It is a powerful anti-oxidant with several health benefits and it is only found in Argan Tree’s in Morocco’s Desert region of Argana.  So many companies are coming out with products that contain it but the bestseller by far has to be Moroccan Oil.  This is a Canadian company based in Montreal that creates hair products that are rooted in Argan Oil.  The entire product line is truly amazing for all hair types.  The shampoo and conditionerMoroccanoil.Treatment.Hires_109x300[1] completely relax my hair even on the most humid of days.  Recently they launched a collection of ceramic brushes to be paired with their hair care line and they are great.  I love the large ceramic paddle brush; it is great for straightening long thick hair and has cut down my blow-drying time by 50 per cent.  These are professional quality products so they are in a slightly higher price range however they are well worth the investment.

Colorist Secret by L’Oreal – They have recently launched a line of three products that normally you wouldn’t be able to find in the mass market hair section, these are products that were only available to professionals so it is very exciting that they are now accessible to us all.  The collection is comprised of a Brass Banisher, Haircolor Remover and Shine Gloss.  I have tried the Shine Gloss and this left my normally dull blonde hair looking shiny, healthy and beautiful.  It is a super easy do it yourself application and is a great addition to your quarterly hair regime.

Hair Styling – My challenge was that I don’t  like to backcomb my hair and I hate the idea of wearing an accessory that will give me a bump on the crown of my head, I love my hair to be straight yet still have body and for the ends to curl under and over.  This is something that has been accomplished with my hair but only when someone else is styling it.

So my mission was to figure out how I could achieve this look at home by myself.  And low and behold I have found it.  It is called the Body Up Brush System; it is a product that I found on The Shopping Channel.  The stylist that used to do my hair like this would use three or four round brushes at a time to give me this look.  I would have brushes all o ver my head. This is a system of nine brush heads with one handle and you basically dry your hair with the brush and roll it like a roller and secure it in place with a clip provided then remove the body-brush-300x244handle and move to the next section of hair with another brush until your entire head is covered with the brushes.  It is basically a hybrid between rollers and brushes.  When you remove the brushes your hair will be full of volume yet will still be straight.  I loved this because if you focus on the crown of your head it will give you that instant boost without having to tease.  Instant bombshell hair!
