Choosing the Right Hairstylist
The key to getting the perfect hairstyle every time is having a long honest relationship with your hairstylist. Today, many women go from stylist to stylist and never f eel entirely happy with their crowning glory. It is necessary to build a relationship with your stylist, allowing them to know your style, likes and dislikes. And vice versa, you to get to know the skills and abilities of your hairstylist. So next time don’t be so quick to judge the look of your “hair do” with the first attempt made by a hairstylist and make a run for another. It is not just about the hair.
Before booking a hair appointment, ask yourself these questions: What has happened in the past that has lead me to search for a new hair stylist? What are my expectations of a hairstylist? Once you have answered these questions, you are ready for the next step, making the appointment. Ask around for referrals to a hairstylist that has worked with your hair type. When booking your appointment, ask for a consultation. At the consultation, do not hesitate to ask some questions in order to get to know the history and background of your stylist’s work. Here are some questions to consider: Why did you choose this line of work? How long have you been a hairstylist? What type of hair and styles do you specialize in? Now it is your turn. Talk to the stylist and inform them, of your past hair history and your expectations. Always be honest and mention your likes and dislikes. This is a great foundation to build on a life long relationship with the right hairstylist. That is if they are the right one for you, if not, the search continues. P.S. Once a hairstylist builds a relationship with a client, they do feel somewhat betrayed, if their client visits another salon, but unlike an ex, we will take you back.
